Celebrating 55-years

Grus i dojjan

This year marks the 55th anniversary of Grus i Dojjan, formed in Krutte Hedberg's kitchen in Åkarp – and they're celebrating with a special two-day anniversary concert! Grus i Dojjan is an institution in Swedish music and an entertainment powerhouse that has performed around 3,000 gigs across Sweden – and internationally! With their unique blend of folk music, schottis, schlager, country, and rock, they’ve captured the hearts of audiences everywhere.

The band’s long and vibrant journey in G major will be brought to life by the original members and long-time veterans.

While there isn’t enough space here to tell their entire story, a few key milestones stand out: After their breakthrough at Folkfesten in Malmö in 1971, they recorded their debut album, which went silver and launched them into stardom. Their massive folk park tour in 1974 included an impressive 134 performances – a record that still stands today!

Over the years, the band has released several LPs and CDs, appeared on Swedish TV (including Allsång på Skansen), and toured with legends such as Fred Åkerström and Bengt Sändh. Their song “Chansen” made it onto Sweden’s Svensktoppen chart, and while “Kaffe utan grädde” never charted, it has become their most beloved hit and a sing-along favorite!
