With his dark, cinematic sound and lyrics exploring life, death, alienation and dysfunctional love, singer, poet, songwriter and illustrator Andi Almqvist is an artist who always moves his audience. He now releases his seventh solo album, We’re All Gonna Die But I Can Live With That – the strangest and at the same time most finely produced record he has made, where themes of doom are interwoven with a humour blacker than Malevich’s square.
Andi met Norwegian producer and multi-instrumentalist Freddy Holm at a shared concert in Halden. Freddy soon invited Andi to his studio, where a certain magic took shape, resulting in the new album.
Andi has toured across Europe and the United States, performing in clubs and theatres around the world, as well as appearing at numerous festivals, including Eurosonic (Netherlands), Les Ardentes (Belgium), SPOT (Denmark), Días Nórdicos (Spain), Peace & Love and the Hultsfred Festival. In addition to his solo work, Andi Almqvist has performed alongside artists such as Mark Lanegan, Woven Hand, Kaizers Orchestra, Holly Golightly, B.B. King, The Blind Boys of Alabama and Bettye LaVette.
