Bach Jazz transforms works by J. S. Bach into unified pieces for piano, double bass, and drums. Their debut album, released in the autumn of 2024, marked the beginning of an unexpected journey. The trio’s organic and curious interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach’s eternal music continue to fascinate and attract new listeners.
In the spring of 2026, Bach Jazz will release their second album, II, where the music deepens even further. The expression remains open and warm, contemplative and exploratory, while embracing new aspects of Bach’s boundless universe. The repertoire ranges from beloved masterpieces to playful experiments – from the Goldberg Variations to a tender lullaby and perhaps the very first historical traces of “agent jazz.”
The trio has appeared on Swedish national television programs such as Go’kväll, Sverige! and Kulturfrågan Kontrapunkt, and their concerts in cultural centers, jazz clubs, churches, and concert halls across the country – from Piteå to Malmö – have been met with enthusiastic acclaim. Many have drawn parallels to the legendary Jan Johansson, and their sold-out concert at Nefertiti in Gothenburg was broadcast on Swedish Radio P2.
On stage:
Emil Carlsson Rinstad – piano and vocals
Magnus Bergström – double bass
Ola Winkler – drums
