Sweden’s number one rockabilly kings celebrate 30 years as a band! Fatboy continues to look ahead with the same curiosity as always, while remaining firmly and elegantly rooted in their origins. Here, the dream of 1950s America and its country and rockabilly traditions meets contemporary pop and indie rock, spiced with unexpected yet well-placed touches of Greek bouzouki music and klezmer. A new album is finally being recorded, with a planned release in autumn 2026. The new songs clearly carry Fatboy’s signature sound, but are charged with renewed energy and authority.
Fatboy has never been a nostalgic, retro or vintage project. From the very beginning in 1995, it was about something else entirely: an uncompromising love of music beyond genres and labels. Singing and playing became both lifeline and way of life. Their music draws on influences from artists such as Faron Young, Stray Cats, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison, as well as The Smiths, Tom Waits and The Cramps.
