The high-energy klezmer band from Malmö presents an explosive, irresistibly danceable blend of klezmer, Balkan music and jazz. With a deep-rooted passion for the Romani musical traditions of Eastern Europe and the Balkans, they perform both original compositions and timeless traditional tunes, all in finely crafted arrangements shaped by virtuosity, musical joy and infectious energy. This evening marks the Malmö release of their new album A Night At Sailor Bar, that was released in August 2026.

”A Night At Sailor Bar” is a live album recorded at the legendary Bimhuis in Amsterdam during the Amsterdam Klezmer Festival in September 2025, a night that captured the band at their peak before an enthralled audience and is now preserved on record. The music draws deeply on the traditions that have shaped the band’s sound: Balkan brass (trubači), tallava and klezmer. Original compositions are interwoven with traditional material from these genres, performed with the intensity and presence unique to a live performance.

In recent years, Folkdivizjon has established itself as a distinctive voice on the Swedish music scene. Their debut album ”Yes! Yes! Yes!” was released in 2024 to wide acclaim. Since then, the band has toured extensively, set audience records at the Korrö Festival and been featured several times on Swedish Radio.

“The arrangements are exceptionally well-crafted and constantly evolving, and the playing, if anything, is even stronger. It abounds with striking horn riffs, driving rhythms, powerful tuba bass lines and outstanding solos.” – Rasmus Klockljung in Lira about the debut album in 2024.

On stage:
Markus Cederholm – clarinet
Love Brageé – alto saxophone
Vidar Hansteen-Jörgensen – tenor saxophone
Hjalmar Nordkvist – trombone
Nicole Bouchikas – tuba
Alvin Samuelsson – trumpet, percussion and vocals
Olof Larsson – percussion
Lukas Hultman – accordion
