French jazz drummer Marc Michel is known for his dynamic and versatile playing, moving between traditional jazz and contemporary and experimental styles. Over the years, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists and ensembles, and his playing is characterised by precision, creativity and a strong rhythmic expression.
In 3Elements, Michel’s precise, driving playing and Torres’ harmonically focused piano work interact closely with Høiby’s bass-driven compositions, creating music that feels urgent, physical and constantly responsive to change. Conversations of Hope reflects a composer and bandleader refining intensity, interaction and ensemble playing with clarity and direction.
