In Lelo Nika Septet, Balkan traditions intertwine with improvisation, Nordic soundscapes, and Eastern European folk music, forming a contemporary and expressive sonic landscape. Here, lyrical melodies meet modern classical refinement and energetic grooves – music marked by curiosity, spontaneity, and a spirit of discovery.
In recent years, Lelo Nika Trio has toured extensively across Europe and collaborated with musicians from many different traditions. Born in Serbia with Romani roots and raised in Denmark and southern Sweden, Lelo Nika now resides in Malmö. His music reflects a multifaceted heritage and a natural ability to move freely between folk traditions and improvisational expression. He composes in both traditional and contemporary styles and has collaborated with artists such as Joe Zawinul and Randy Brecker.
