Marit Bergman on the tour: ”I’m very grateful that Musik i Syd/Kronoberg has given me this opportunity to venture beyond the big cities. I’ve barely even had a coffee in half of the places I’m going to visit, and now I get to play music there!
We will draw from my repertoire and catalog, which has quite a bit to offer after six albums and over 20 years as a solo artist in the service of pop. BUT, since Ola, in addition to being an amazing singer, is also a brilliant actress, artist, poet, and songwriter, I fully expect her to inspire me to take my own music to the next level. I promise to play my ’hits,’ but beyond that, no one can know exactly what to expect—not even me or Ola!”
The singer from Rättvik broke through in the mid-’90s with the band Candysuck, where she played guitar. In 2002, she released her first solo album, 3:00 A.M. Serenades, on her own record label, and the success of the album quickly led to a record deal with Sony. This was followed by an EP, a duet with Moneybrother, and the follow-up album Baby, Dry Your Eye—the latter earned Marit Bergman two Grammys in 2004 in the categories of Composer of the Year and Female Artist of the Year.
Marit Bergman continued to release music throughout the 2000s before moving to New York, where she lived for several years. During her time in the USA and after, she largely refrained from public performances, but made a comeback in Kalle Moraeus’ TV show Moraeus med mera in the fall of 2013. Since 2016, she has been the host of the music program Backstage med Marit Bergman on Sveriges Radio P4. Today, she lives in Sweden again and has returned to the stage.
On stage:
Marit Bergman – guitar and vocals
Ola Husamou – vocals
