Since forming in 1971, Nynningen have made a lasting mark on Swedish music history. As one of the best-known bands to emerge from Sweden’s progg movement, they have moved freely between rock, jazz, improvisation and folk music over the years, always with Swedish-language lyrics at the heart of their music.
This evening brings several generations of Nynningen together on stage. Tomas Forssell co-founded the band in 1971, while Bernt Andersson was a member from 1972 until the end of the 1970s and has returned increasingly often in recent years. Thomas Jäderlund joined in 2016, followed by Anastasia Grivogiannis in 2024.
The evening will look both back and ahead, with new versions of familiar songs and, above all, a warm musical tribute to Nikke Ström.
On stage:
Bernt Andersson – accordion, keyboards, vocals
Tomas Forssell – guitars, mandolin, vocals
Anastasia Grivogiannis – guitars, vocals
Thomas Jäderlund – saxophones, bass clarinet, vocals
