Behind the name Ossler is guitarist, singer and songwriter Per Ossler – former member of Wilmer X and longtime collaborator with Joakim Thåström, both on stage and in the studio. He is also part of the electronic and ambient project Sällskapet.
Since his solo debut Hotel Neanderthal (1997), Ossler has released eight critically acclaimed albums, praised for their consistency, sonic curiosity and vivid lyricism. His latest release, Regn av glas (2022), deepens the expression further—with arrangements where guitar, keys and cello intertwine in understated drama.
Live, Ossler is a hypnotic force. Through a precise and dynamic performance, he constructs an immersive atmosphere where every detail matters—a focused and highly visual experience that lingers long after the final note has faded.
During this concert, Ossler will share the stage with Christian Gabel and Henrik Meierkord. Gabel is known from various projects, such as being the drummer in bob hund and for his audio/visual concept 1900. Meierkord has collaborated with artists including Agent Side Grinder and Cecilia Nordlund, creating rich, vibrant works that draw as much from ambient music as from a deep history of classical styles.
“At first, I was going to do these three shows solo — just me, my guitar, and some stories. But that’s not how it turned out. In recent years, I’ve worked closely with both Christian Gabel and Henrik Meierkord in separate projects, and gradually realized I wanted them involved. It simply makes things more interesting for me. First, I asked Gabel, who has an incredible sense for creating intriguing and beautiful spaces out of harmony and crackle. After a few improvised recordings with Meierkord, I asked him as well — he builds vast, self-contained worlds with his cello. I deeply admire their respective work, and to my joy and surprise, both were eager to join in. So now we’re some sort of trio, and I think — or rather, I know — that the result will be something different.” – Ossler on the trio project.
On stage:
Pelle Ossler – vocals and guitar
Henrik Meierkord – cello
Christian Gabel – synth/machines
