Can you ever truly walk away from your family ties? Or are you bound together forever, like the knights at the Round Table? Legends say that brotherhood is the strongest of bonds—but real life, of course, is not always quite so simple.
Ahead of Agnas Bros.’ most recent recording session, things weren’t exactly harmonious. The brothers disagreed on just about everything, but decided to meet in the studio anyway. Perhaps this would be their final attempt to rekindle the old brotherhood. Unfortunately, the atmosphere after the session was, if anything, even worse. The album was shelved. Was it time to collectively resign from the family band? Or is it true, as the old saying goes, that time heals all wounds?
Luckily, the spark returned. Old quarrels cooled, and the brotherly bond was saved from falling apart yet again. Agnas Bros.’ fifth album, Sista Försöket, will be released in autumn 2025 on the holy grail of Swedish jazz labels: Moserobie Music Productions.
With nearly five albums behind them, Agnas Bros. have enjoyed success in European concert halls, summer festivals and intimate jazz clubs across both Sweden and the wider continent, and have collaborated with artists such as Pat Metheny, Nils Landgren, and the ensembles O/Modernt and Stockholm Chamber Brass.
On stage:
Max Agnas – piano
Kasper Agnas – guitar
Mauritz Agnas – double bass
Konrad Agnas – drums
