With his gritty yet velvety rock voice and lyrics about love, time, and the transience of life, Ronnie Åström and his trio deliver an intense live experience filled with irresistible melodies and masterful guitar playing. Åström is a compelling performer who gives his all from the very first beat to the final note, as if he were born for the stage. The trio’s concerts are known for taking audiences on an emotional rollercoaster, where expressive solos and strong dynamics are interwoven with witty banter that leaves the crowd in fits of laughter. Above all, the performance is anchored by world-class vocals from one of the country’s finest singers. This year, they are touring with a new album that has already generated great anticipation ahead of its release.
Ronnie Åström’s musical career took off at the age of sixteen, when he left school, ran away from home, and devoted himself entirely to music. Since then, he has collaborated with some of Sweden’s leading artists as a bandleader, musician, and arranger, including names such as Meja, Joe Bonamassa, Robert Wells, Loreen, Darin, Jakob Samuel, and Danny Saucedo.

The debut album One Take at Sonika Studios, released in 2021, launched the band into a two-year tour and earned them awards and accolades. The album includes, among other tracks, a rendition of Little Richard’s classic hit “Lucille,” which has been streamed several million times and is one of the few covers shared by Little Richard’s family.
In 2022, Ronnie received the “Hans-Erik Dahlgren Scholarship” for his nearly thirty years of work as a bandleader and guitarist alongside Sweden’s top artists, establishing himself as one of the country’s most respected musicians. In the autumn of 2023, the songs “Kärleken är blå,” “Publiken satt kvar,” and “Lovsången” were released; together they have surpassed 100,000 streams and are frequently played on Swedish Radio P4.
