More about the artist

The folk music band Den Fule is back. Back with renewed energy to spread their dynamic mix of Nordic music infused with thrilling global influences. Now "fulare" (uglier) than ever. Seven years of beauty sleep, all in vain. The triple time is heavier than ever, the electric guitar charged. The saxophone incites, the bass deceives, and the drums topple so that trolls flee, dancers levitate, and sweet little waltzes take cower, frightened, in the corners. Den Fule has sharpened its claws and unfurled its tail. Den Fule is back.

Den Fule was formed in Gothenburg in the early '90s and quickly established itself as a pioneer on the Swedish folk fusion scene. Their music combines traditional Swedish folk music with influences from jazz, rock, funk, and world music, resulting in a unique blend of groovy rhythms and complex melodic arrangements.

The band won a Swedish Grammy in 1993 for Best Folk Music Production with their debut album, Lugumleik. This album became a milestone in Swedish folk fusion, celebrated for its innovative arrangements and genre-crossing sound. They have released three more albums, the latest being Contrebande, a collaboration with musicians such as Solo and Adama Cissoko from Senegal.

Den Fule has toured both nationally and internationally, with performances in the United States, India, and Turkey. Their energetic live performances offer an irresistible mix of improvisation, joy, and musical virtuosity.
