Jerron Paxton now presents his latest album, *Things Done Changed*, where he both preserves and renews these historic musical styles. Through his sharp and personal storytelling, he gives voice to the African American experience in the U.S., bridging the past and the present. Paxton’s music, deeply rooted in community traditions, brings history to life with timeless insights that create a powerful presence in the now, carrying these traditions forward.
Welcome to an evening that promises a journey back in time with an artist who not only channels the music of the 1920s but makes us wish we could stay there. According to *The Wall Street Journal*, Paxton is "practically the only music-maker of his generation to fully embrace the blues idiom of the 1920s and ’30s."
Paxton has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including a sold-out Lead Belly tribute concert at Carnegie Hall in 2016, alongside icons like Buddy Guy and Eric Burdon. Since then, his star has risen quickly, and he has made a name for himself not only in the U.S. but also internationally at festivals such as the Byron Bay Blues Festival in Australia, the Calgary Folk Festival in Canada, and the Cambridge Folk Festival in the UK. He has also served as Artistic Director for the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival & Workshop and is a recurring audience favorite on the Keeping The Blues Alive Cruise.

This is a picnic event, or as we like to call is: Picnic theater. That means that you may bring your own food and drinks to the event.
It doesn’t matter what you bring – take-away pizza at one table is followed by oysters and caviar at the next. Bring what you feel like, and don't forget to bring glasses and cuttlery!
Please note that you may not bring food if you have tickets for the balcony, only drinks and snacks.
