More about the artist

Antonio Lizana has swiftly risen to prominence as one of flamenco jazz’s most celebrated figures, effortlessly moving between New York and his native Andalusia. A saxophonist, singer, and songwriter, he brings a fresh perspective to flamenco by blending virtuosic jazz with soulful vocals and pulsating Iberian rhythms. With his new album Vishuddha, Lizana takes the stage to deliver his unique vision.

From Andalusia to New York and beyond, Lizana is widely regarded as a leading voice in contemporary Flamenco Jazz from southern Spain. Known for his masterful jazz saxophone, passionate flamenco singing, and evocative compositions, his live performances are often described as a “breathtaking journey from flamenco roots to contemporary jazz,” seamlessly interwoven with soulful lyrics that convey messages of optimism and sincerity to his audience.

Lizana and his band have toured over 30 countries, gracing festivals like Womex, Etnosur, Jazz sous les pommiers, and the New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco Flamenco Festivals, among others. He has performed at prestigious events worldwide, including the Madrid Jazz Festival, La Seine Musicale, the Shanghai Jazz Fest, Casablanca Jazz Fest, and the Flamenco Biennale in the Netherlands. Born and raised in San Fernando, Cádiz—one of flamenco’s cultural heartlands—Lizana’s style has been shaped by extensive collaborations with local artists, enabling him to share the authentic spirit of flamenco with audiences around the world.

Lizana is one of the few Spanish artists to have recorded an NPR Tiny Desk concert, a testament to his international appeal. Picnic theater

This is a picnic event, or as we like to call is: Picnic theater. That means that you may bring your own food and drinks to the event.

It doesn’t matter what you bring – take-away pizza at one table is followed by oysters and caviar at the next. Bring what you feel like, and don't forget to bring glasses and cuttlery!

Please note that you may not bring food if you have tickets for the balcony, only drinks and snacks.
