As always, Per shares insights about the music and the composer, and the program will also include other classical piano gems by Chopin – a composer he has studied in depth while working on his new film, Piano Rivals, which will premiere in Sweden in the spring of 2025.
Per Tengstrand – piano – was born in Växjö and has become one of Sweden's most distinguished concert pianists. Among his many awards and honors, it is worth noting that he won first prize in the Cleveland International Piano Competition and, as the youngest recipient ever, was awarded the Swedish royal medal Litteris et Artibus.
Per was the main subject of the documentary The Soloist by Magnus Gertten and Stefan Berg and has produced his own film about Ludwig van Beethoven's music, Freedom of the Will, which premiered in the fall of 2022. The film explores people and events influenced by Beethoven's music and how music can empower individuals. Per currently resides in Princeton, New Jersey, with his wife, Shan-shan Sun.

This is a picnic event, or as we like to call is: Picnic theater. That means that you may bring your own food and drinks to the event.
It doesn’t matter what you bring – take-away pizza at one table is followed by oysters and caviar at the next. Bring what you feel like, and don't forget to bring glasses and cuttlery!
Please note that you may not bring food if you have tickets for the balcony, only drinks and snacks.
