Wildie

More about the artist

Intimate, cinematic rock that blends blues, soul, and country influences, Wildie stands out as one of Sweden’s most overlooked musical treasures. With roots in Malmö and Österlen, the band has been described as an anachronism – a time-defying force. Their sound channels the spirit of Neil Young and The Band, while also drawing comparisons to Wilco, Cordovas, and Midlake. The music is rich with sentimentality, nostalgia, and melancholy, where childhood synthesizers, winding bass lines, pop harmonies, and grunge-inspired guitars are seamlessly woven together with genuine songwriting and a powerful emotional depth.

Founded in 2014 by Anders Thorén and musician-producer Rasmus Svensson, Wildie recorded their debut album Lost and Gone together. Over the years, the band has evolved into something of a hidden supergroup, uniting seasoned musicians who have played in various ensembles before finally finding one another. Joining them are old and new friends Marcus Rostedt (drums), Per Henry Levi Knagg (bass), and Martin Svensson (acoustic guitar).

The name Wildie draws inspiration from the silent film era, when screenwriters sometimes sought the help of mentally ill individuals to break through creative blocks and keep the writing process moving.

With four albums under their belt and a fifth on the way – or perhaps already here – we look forward to welcoming them back to Victoriateatern.

"The music is so high-level that it’s hard to believe they’re not a bigger name on the Swedish music scene." - Jonas Gillberg, Sydsvenskan

"These are songs that, in another time and place, would have been woven into the fabric of our most beloved rock classics." - Johan Bentzel, Ystads Allehanda

"Fantastically beautiful, somewhere between Malmö Väst and The Canyon, WILDIE is currently SWEDEN’S MOST EXCITING BAND in the mature, more sophisticated rock tradition." - Olle Berggren

Picnic theater

This is a picnic event, or as we like to call is: Picnic theater. That means that you may bring your own food and drinks to the event.

It doesn’t matter what you bring – take-away pizza at one table is followed by oysters and caviar at the next. Bring what you feel like, and don't forget to bring glasses and cuttlery!

Please note that you may not bring food if you have tickets for the balcony, only drinks and snacks.
